BMW F 800 ST Rehab: How to Replace the Drive Belt
An MOA member who decided it was time to stop riding donated his 2008 BMW F 800 ST to the MOA Foundation to help further its cause of rider education, training and awareness. Unfortunately, the bike had been sitting for a couple of years before he reached that decision, so it needs a bit of rehab before it's ready for its next owner.
In this video, we walk you through how to replace the drive belt.
Tools needed:
* Torx drivers + ratchet + extension
* Torque wrench (for reassembly)

    Qualquer bom lubrificante que atenda as especificações SAE 75W-90 de API GL-5 HD, de preferência semi-sintético ou sintético é plenamente compatível com as exigências de serviço recomendados pela fabricante. E é esse mesmo óleo que também pode ser usado na caixa de câmbio.

    • @BMWMOAorg
      @BMWMOAorg 8 дней назад

      True - but I recommend using exactly the oil(s) specified by BMW while your motorcycle is under warranty. If there's a problem and you used any other oil, a warranty claim might be denied.

    • @zefini7397
      @zefini7397 8 дней назад

      @@BMWMOAorg Elementar que queiram que use só o óleo que eles tem pra oferecer e até depois do período de garantia, mas se seguir especificação recomendada, depois do período de garantia para não contrariar as normas da garantia, não tem problema nenhum. Eu uso na minha GS1200 AC DOHC ano 2012 o lubrificante de caixa de marchas e de diferencial (é o mesmo lubrificante) seguindo as especificações do óleo e não da marca que eles recomendam e nunca tive problemas. Mas durante o período de garantia, sim, foram eles que fizeram as revisões, hoje não mais.

    It's odd that the manual doesn't tell you the amount of final drive fluid is needed, and if you capture what comes out from the factory, it's 250mL.

    Wow, cool tool. Would it be tricky getting a tube inserted?

    • @BMWMOAorg
      @BMWMOAorg 12 дней назад

      Tricky ... maybe. You would certainly need to be careful and use the strap rather than the stop rod.

  • @LTVoyager
    @LTVoyager 13 дней назад

    Looks like a well-designed and constructed piece of gear. The only complaint I would have is they should have included a pouch for the manual as it will get torn up over time riding around with the metal pieces. A pouch sewn into the bag for the paper would have been a nice touch as would pockets on the side to hold the smaller parts - something like the pockets made to hold shotgun shells in a shooting jacket.

    • @BMWMOAorg
      @BMWMOAorg 12 дней назад

      No argument. Good idea.

  • @LTVoyager
    @LTVoyager 13 дней назад

    It appeared your tire rotated as it was being installed which would throw off the dot relationship. I have found with my NoMar that it helps to both hold the tire with my free hand while rotating the mount lever and also to “lead” the valve stem and inch or so with the dot so that a little rotation brings it right in line.

    • @BMWMOAorg
      @BMWMOAorg 12 дней назад

      Thanks for the tip!

  • @LTVoyager
    @LTVoyager 13 дней назад

    This device looks similar in ease of use to my NoMar changer, but has the advantage of being much easier to store and is more portable. My biggest complaint with the NoMar is there is no good way to store it as it takes up a lot of space.

    • @BMWMOAorg
      @BMWMOAorg 12 дней назад

      Personally speaking (i.e. not an official MOA position) I think you're right. IMO the No-Mar is great for a permanent or semi-permanent setup, while the Rabaconda excels at portability - I could see using this trackside, trailside or on the side of the road if absolutely necessary.

  • @LTVoyager
    @LTVoyager 13 дней назад

    It is good to see a “first time” use like this. When I bought my NoMar changer many years ago I had watched the videos and it looked super easy. Well, my first few changes were a huge struggle and nothing like what was seen in their videos. However, after about 4 changes, things got a lot better and I can now change tires (after probably 30 changes or more in the last 15 years) almost as quickly and easily as what is seen in NoMar videos. There are a few key techniques you learn that make a night and day difference.

    • @BMWMOAorg
      @BMWMOAorg 12 дней назад

      That's exactly why we wanted to show the process from a first-time-use perspective!

    The Klim Krios Pro is a $800 helmet after taxes. You would expect perfection in all aspects and it's almost there BUT the visor will NOT stay where you place it. Open it up a few notches for extra air, first little dip or bump in the road and SLAM down it comes! I love everything about this helmet except the hinge plates. It is a $800 helmet WT Actual F?!
